That's What Sunset Looks Like From Space
Studies show that seeing sunsets regularly can improve a person's emotional wellbeing. Although some places on earth are famous for their amazing sunsets, do you think they compete with this one?
Thank you, NASA, for giving us this otherworldly experience of seeing what a sunset looks like from space. It's absolutely mesmerizing!
Let's Kick Cancer's Butt
This person shared a photo of their removed and genetically modified white blood cells that the doctors were going to put back in hopes of curing cancer. This treatment is called T-Cell Immunotherapy. This form of therapy differs from chemical, radiation, and surgical treatment. It is transplanting your immune cells that were previously removed. The transformed immune cells have enhanced anti-cancer properties. It’s like sending your white cells off to become Navy SEALS.
The great news is that the treatment worked, and the former patient is now fine. Science is magic with logic that works. It can do wonders!
A Bird Mastering The Art Of Blowing Little Smoke Rings
This is so awesome. How often do you get to see a bird blowing little smoke rings? In reality, though, the cool smoke is just condensation.
But we have a theory. We know birds are descended from dinosaurs. Who knows, this bird might actually be a descendant of a fire-breathing dragon. Some might say this is a crazy theory, who's to say it isn't true? Choose your side wisely.
This Beautiful Rainbow Cloud Seen In India Looks Magical
Someone spotted a rainbow cloud from their balcony in India and was kind enough to share a picture online. It is not as beautiful as aurora, but pretty rare to see such phenomena.
Did they initially think this was an iridescent flying saucer coming from behind clouds? We have never seen one of these in real life and didn't even know that such a thing existed.
Just An Iceberg Flipped Upside Down, Nothing Major
This is not a painting. We’re not messing with you. This is a real, surreal iceberg with a lovely shade of blue, which was initially underwater but flipped upside down.
At first, we thought, "What the hell are the stupid people doing there," but then we realized they're penguins, so then we thought "what the hell are the stupid penguins doing there."
This Person's Cool Prosthetics Look Half Wolverine, Half Cyborg
This person finally got his prosthetics in, and it looks really cool and super sleek aesthetically. You must have so many questions. How does it feel? Is it comfortable and what about functionality?
Well, they are pretty lightweight, maintenance-free, and extremely durable according to their owner. Anything that's small or requires a small grip, like a tightly closed fist, can be a little difficult because the prosthetics don’t close all the way to the palm as real fingers would.
Stop Staring At Me, Human! Haven't You Ever Seen An Albino Peacock?
At first, we thought it was the Kung Fu Panda villain Lord Shen. This peacock is clearly telling the human, "peace is never an option. Stay away."
Normal peacocks are already self-absorbing idiots, so imagine this guy that clearly stands out from his peers. Jokes aside, other peacocks usually avoid an albino one.
Bioluminescent Phytoplankton In The Persian Gulf
Bioluminescent dinoflagellates are tiny marine organisms that make the ocean surface sparkle at night. For bioluminescence to happen, you would have to disturb or move the plankton. That is why you get to see the mesmerizing blue light when the wave crashes onto the shoreline or you walk along the beach.
We don't know about you, but we'll be plunging our hands into that for sure. We know bioluminescent dinoflagellates stole the show, but let's not ignore the beautiful sky. Save this photo as wallpaper.
Sweden Doing It Right With This Representation Of Realistic Dad
We're in love with this! It's so refreshing to see the Dad portrayed as an involved, nurturing parent. More of this, please! They do try quite hard in Sweden to involve fathers more in parenthood.
What's more, the man is bald, contrary to all the ads and movies that show men with thick hair only. As if bald men do not exist or are not sexy enough!
Anyone Up For Ice Egg Fight?
These ice eggs in Northern Finland are due to a rare phenomenon that occurs when ice is rolled over by water and wind.
You don't want to take a snowball fight to the next level with these ice eggs. Another reason not to play with them is that maybe the ice dragon babies might begin to hatch after a few months.
This Magical Forest Looks Like It Came Right Out Of Frozen 2
The forest of Aspen in Colorado looks a lot like the one in Frozen 2. It seems like a magical combination of silver and gold.
Most aspen forests can be found in Colorado and Utah. Aspen trees symbolize purity, clarity of purpose, determination, and lots more, and we can see why.
Mario Kart Rainbow Road, Anyone?
This looks like a highway to heaven. It is a 30-second long exposure of an airliner departing from the runway. Whoever came up with this idea deserves an award or something.
This would be very interesting with several aircraft trails. Nevertheless, it is stunning photography and a perfectly executed idea.
This Ancient Tree In Cairo Is Nothing Short Of Stunning
This is the Cairo Tower tree or Zamalek tree. It is more than 150 years old and one that you just cannot miss when passing by the area. In 1868, Khedive Ismail ordered that it be brought from India and planted there. It is the only remaining banyan tree in Cairo.
Over the years, the tree became an icon of Zamalek, with couples, tourists, and children making memories and taking pictures next to it. We're so happy that they built the road around this beautiful tree.
Bye-Bye Chemo - This Is What Beating Cancer Looks Like
This person's nails are pushing the chemo out of their fingertips. People who have successfully fought against cancer must be saying, "yes, been there, done that."
Chemo sucks, but it goes a lot better than you think if you face it head-on. Then again, everyone's experience is different. We hope for a smooth recovery for this person.
It's Just A Truck Door Handle On A Frosty Morning
Oh, we see now that Elsa from Frozen was around. And yes, we have used the Frozen reference twice already. We have to LET IT GO now.
This photo shows nature is extremely beautiful and unpredictable. And nature draws so much better than most of us.
Every Student Should Have This Insanely Cool Periodic Table
This person's dad has a periodic table with the actual elements in it. Are you feeling jealous?
Did he get it on his birthday? We hope that there was an ELEMENT of a surprise when he received it.
A Real Life Rainbow Road You Can Actually Walk On
When the sun hit this freshly-paved tarmac, it made a real-life rainbow road through polarized lenses. Now we'd like to wear polarized glasses everywhere just to find hidden rainbows.
If you think about it, this person discovered the rainbow road before Pride Month.
Amazing Jimbacrinus Crinoid Fossils Are The Stuff Of Nightmares
We don't know about you, but we seriously think that these fossils look like those machines from The Matrix.
Or maybe these are mini alien robots with squid legs. You can never be sure about these discoveries. They might be hiding the truth from us.
This Glasswing Butterfly Knows A Thing Or Two About Camouflage
It's a Glasswing Butterfly, and it is meant to look like that (it's not a one-off mutation). It is breathtakingly beautiful and not so common.
It uses transparency to hide from predators and can easily camouflage into the background during flight.
Another Cool Reason To Love Dragonflies
Fun fact: Dragonflies have been around for over 300 million years, do not bite or sting and spend their first year of life in the water as a nymph. Dragonflies landing on your head is considered good luck in some cultures, as well as being a tasty treat to others.
Once a dragonfly dies, the color drains from its wings. If you try to preserve them, you just wind up with a bunch of colorless bodies – this is why people took to studying butterflies instead of dragonflies. The more you know.
What Can This Possibly Be? Well, It's A Beautiful Pistachio Plant
This pistachio plant looks like a beautiful bunch of roses or tulips. We would never be able to cut them down.
We don't know what image we had in our minds of what pistachio plants look like, but it was certainly not this!
Just A Piece Of 10,000-Year-Old Glacial Ice, Nothing Special
This 10,000-year-old glacial ice looks a lot like ice dragon scales. Too bad these glaciers are melting. Imagine the purity of the water they melt into.
Did you know that Icelandic glacial natural spring water has recently become popular? People are buying Iceland's glacier water in the U.S.
This Extremely Rare Leucistic Alligator Is Kind Of Cute Actually
If your day wasn't going well, this extremely rare and cute leucistic alligator might make it better. This alligator's name is Snowball, and it has its eyeliner game on point. And let's not forget the mustache too.
Leucism is a rare condition that is not albinism. Leucistic alligators are so rare that only about 10 or 11 of them exist in the world.
Horses On A Plane Are Much Better Than Snakes On A Plane
It seems like a sequel to a 2006 American action film Snakes on a Plane. However, the sequel was not a huge success because nothing happened on this flight.
If you're wondering why horses need to be on airplanes in the first place, they are flown all the time for competitions, sales, or even moving. Sometimes, the horses are mildly sedated before the engines start and take off. The flight crew includes a veterinarian most often.
This Girl's Unusual Genetics Make Her So Unique And Beautiful
This woman is naturally half-blonde and half-brunette, including her eyebrows. Or you can say that she looks more like blond and blonder.
We feel that the big, square, black box really sets it off. Did they censor her teeth because they are also half-blonde, half-brunette?
Are These Skin Grafts Real? They Seem Kind Of Fishy To Us
No, this is not Aquaman's true origin story. Did you know that a specific fish skin can be grafted onto diabetic and burns wounds? Once grafted, the material recruits the body's own cells and is converted eventually into living tissues.
This is probably tilapia skin. The fish's skin has huge amounts of type I collagen and a similar morphological structure to human skin. That is why experts believe it has potential for curing burn wounds.
The Fluffy Secret To How Penguins Handle Freezing Temperatures
Sorry, this is not the right place for the joke. What you are seeing is the density of penguin feathers. Interestingly, penguins have the highest feather density of any bird (around 100 feathers per square inch of skin).
Sadly, this Penguin died. But he died peacefully of old age, surrounded by his loved ones. And donated his body to science. If you believe that.
This Is What A Pencil Store In Tehran, Iran Looks Like
Now we know why the tip of the lead pencil breaks every time you sharpen it. They make it weak so that we have no other option but to buy more pencils. Perfect business model!
We can bet it smells really nice there. Do they have erasers somewhere in the store?
Astronaut Bruce McCandless On A Casual Stroll In Outer Space
Bruce McCandless was a United States Navy officer, aviator, electrical engineer, and NASA astronaut. In the photo, you can see him floating away from the safety of the space shuttle. Only his Manned Maneuvering unit was keeping him from drifting into the unknown.
Seeing this makes us feel nervous and terrified. You can say that he just needed some space away from everyone.
This Cat's Paw Is So Special, It Looks Like Two Cats Morphed Into One
The color of this kitten's foot is split down the middle, and this is too much cuteness to handle.
These fluffy creatures only want to rule humans and we happily like to serve them. They win us over with their cuteness.
Japan's Sendai Daikannon, One Of The Tallest Statues In The World
Sendai Daikannon is a large statue of Byakue Kannon located in Sendai, Japan. It is one of the tallest statues in the world. The statue represents the gem-bearing Nyoirin Kannon, a Japanese goddess of compassion.
Interestingly, this isn't even the tallest statue in Japan! There is another statue called Ushiku Daibutsu in the city of Ushiku in Ibaraki Prefecture, measuring 394ft high, whereas this statue is 330ft high.
Who Stole The Rest Of The Rainbow Colors? Why Is It Only Red?
Someone saw a rainbow in only red color at midnight in Finland. Scientifically, a rainbow is formed when the light from the sun is scattered by water droplets through a process called refraction.
Red rainbows happen when the sun is on the horizon, but we think it looks like an evil rainbow if you ask us.
Is This A Cactus Or A Demon Plant? We're Not Sure
The person who uploaded this photo thought their cactus had grown a strange-looking flower. The truth is that it is a demon plant that is whispering, "Feeeeed Meeeee."
It is a Stapelia, in the Euphorbia family, not a cactus. It's from South Africa. It smells like rotting flesh, and the color and texture are supposed to resemble rotting flesh. Carrion flies pollinate it. Although it is not related to the cactus, it thrives under the same conditions (sandy, rocky soil, little water, high heat).
This Unique Looking Duck Is Not Your Average Jade Duck
This real-life version of Jade duck is Cayuga duck. We feel that Cayuga duck sounds like something Indiana Jones should be searching for.
We bet this duck must be getting a lot of attention and love from the opposite gender.
Despite Their Fuzzy Appearance, These Are Not Cat Paws
Oh boy, we could've revealed it sooner but we wanted to keep you guessing a bit longer. Your first guess must be that these are cat paws. These are spider feet up close
From a close-up, they look rather cute. We never knew they had tiny little claws. Why are we feeling uncomfortable with how cute these look? Are you still scared of spiders?
This Brave Guy Is Fighting Cancer With Three Months Of Hardcore Chemotherapy
What a brave soul he is. Despite fighting cancer with chemotherapy for months, he never lost his boyish charm.
It is good to see the nervous smile of not knowing what’s ahead changed to the smile of, “I’m getting through it!” We hope he is doing well and has a full recovery.
With A Screw This Big, Try To Imagine How Big The Screwdriver Must Be
These giant screws are ready for mounting solar panels. If one of these bad boys lands on your feet, you will be truly screwed.
Someone on the first day on their job probably said, "screw that" after seeing this huge screw
This Fence Is Perfect For Neighbors Who Couldn’t Agree On The Property Line
These charming garden walls are there for a reason. The wavy brick fences use fewer bricks than a straight wall as there is a need for at least two layers of bricks for a straight wall. Moreover, they are sturdier due to the arch support provided by the waves.
It looks beautiful, but we think that mowing the lawn must be a nightmare. If you want a wavy fence, consider getting a couple of goats to mow the lawn.
Nature, Why Are You So Amazing? This Lizard Seems To Walk On Water
This lizard does not have supernatural powers of standing on water. This lizard has fringes of skin-like scales that spread out to increase water's surface area.
The common basilisk is adroit on water because its feet are large and equipped with flaps of skin along with the toes that allow it to catch on tiny air bubbles. When moving quickly, the lizard can cross the surface of the water before sinking.
If You Ever Wondered What The Back Of Da Vinci's Mona Lisa Looks Like
Although we didn't need to see this, here we are. You can say that this is not the best side of Mona Lisa.
Oh, you are asking us how we can prove it's the Mona Lisa painting and not just a random one. Well, we don't know, but that is what we choose to believe.
And That's What A Clump Of DNA Looks Like In Real Life
Do you remember extracting DNA from strawberries in school? We didn't know human DNA looks like a seahorse. Fun fact: why strawberries are typically used for DNA extraction experiments in schools is because strawberries have a lot of DNA to give. They are octoploid, meaning they have a chromosome number eight times the basic haploid chromosome number. This means that each cell contains remnants of four separate ancestral diploid subgenomes that underlie strawberry's form and function.
For those wondering, It’s pretty easy to extract your own DNA from saliva (and most organic things). Just add a tablespoon of salt to two cups of water, gargle 1/4 of it for 1 min, spit it back into the cup, add 2 drops of dish soap, stir gently, and add 1/2 cup of rubbing alcohol and stir gently for a few minutes. It will look just like the picture. That’s too much information, right?
These Mosaics Of A Roman Villa Look As Good As New Despite Being Buried For Centuries
Italy and Greece have a lot of ancient stuff. These Mosaics of a Roman villa were found under a vineyard in Negrar, Italy. It is unbelievable how well the patterns have been preserved. Not to mention how the colors have survived under all that soil, and everything that patch of ground has been through ever since that floor was put down.
Interestingly, some Roman villas often covered ten to fifteen acres, the size of a Walmart.
Despite What You Might Think, This Is Not A Giant Ball Of Mozzarella!
Someone found this giant puffball mushroom in the woods. We have never been so disappointed to realize something was not mozzarella.
Although it is best not to bring anything back from the woods, we can understand why someone brought it back home.
These Ants Seem To Be Making Nutritional Almond Floor
Ants gutted this person's almond as they wanted to make their own almond flour. Maybe they were planning on baking macarons.
One thing is pretty clear that ants and bees are amazing when it comes to working as a group. They give you true lessons on unity and working as a team.
What Is That Thing? Well, It's An Opisometer
This device is used to measure lengths on maps. If you want to know the distance, all you have to do is roll the device along the street you want to use.
Although GPS has made most people stop using paper maps, you would be surprised to know that paper maps are still thriving in the digital era.
Two Thumbs-Up For The Hand Of A Koala
Koalas have human-like fingerprints. They are almost identical, and even under a microscope, it is hard to distinguish the difference between theirs and those of humans. Luckily, they are unlikely to be present at crime scenes outside of Australia.
Although those claws look super dangerous, this animal rarely attacks humans. However, in 2014, a woman in South Australia tried to protect her two dogs from an aggressive koala and received a vicious bite.
Looks Like This Little Kitty Comes With A Comfortable, Fluffy Pocket
This cutie got spayed, and the shaved area grew back a chocolate-colored patch. The bottom picture looks like that cat has a flap on its side!
The fur color depends on temperature (cold zones are darker, like the nose, ears, and paws). You can see the color patterns change from winter to summer. The shaved patch probably was colder because the fur was short and it grew back darker. So, it will change color with time.
Take A Bit Out OF This Apple That Looks More Like Pomegranate
Someone was shocked when they took the first bite of their apple. The flesh of the apple is the same color as its skin.
This is a trademarked variety of apples called The Lucy. It is red outside, with red flesh on the inside and white flesh close to the core. It’s a cross between Honeycrisp and Arlie Red Flesh.
Believe It Or Not, These Cancer Pills Actually Cost $12,000
This medicine (called Gleevec) is used to treat cancers such as gastrointestinal stromal tumors, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, chronic myeloid leukemia, and others.
It is sad that these life-saving medications cost so much. In some countries, the expenses of such expensive medications are covered by healthcare.
Get Well Soon, Big Boy
This 414-pound gorilla is on the exam table. One wonders what this big boy is dreaming of under the effects of anesthesia.
The name of this 25-year-old silverback Lowland Gorilla is Barney. He had a lingering cough problem and skin rashes.
