She Got That iPhone Of The Third Kind
It's always cool when you get something new that you want to show off for your friends. That's why this girl claimed she had just gotten the new iPhone, and then posted a picture on her Instagram story to show it off. One problem though, she didn't actually have the new iPhone, and the picture was edited so poorly, that everyone could tell it was fake as soon as they looked at it!
Look at the size of her hand compared to the size of the iPhone. And then, look at the iPhone compared to the size of her head. Was she even trying?
Someone's Got Your Nose
When influencers want to look younger, and fresher than they actually are, they'll use a softener in editing apps to blur their features. One problem though is if you overdo it you'll wind up looking like this girl, which is to say you'll look like nothing at all. Where did she even go? She actually face-tuned herself out of existence with this one, but honestly, we're impressed with her commitment.
It would be one thing if this woman had just brightened up her eyes, or added color to her lips like we see other influencers do. But she just decided to erase the rest of her face entirely.
Is This How Legs Are Supposed To Look?
This set of pictures honestly creeped us out a little bit. This woman is trying to present herself as being super skinny and super tall, but the overall effect is like a video game character gone wrong. There are also a few key indicators that these pictures have been photoshopped, so she's not even pulling it off. Look at the handbag and the cord on the floor in the first image, and then in the second look at the wall. Do you see it?
Lines that should be straight have been warped and bent as she corrected her own curves. So, we don't think she'll be fooling anyone.
What's The Point If She Was So Beautiful In The First Place
What bothers us the most about a lot of these instances of Instagram overkill is the fact that no one should feel so insecure that they need to edit their own appearance and share it with the world constantly, trying to live up to the false standard of being a person they're not. Take this one for example, she basically turned herself into a cartoon character on the left, when the image on the right (the real image) looks much better anyway.
Maybe we should give this girl the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps this picture was for a graphic design class, and not her social media.
Silent Night, Unholy Night, Nothing Is Peaceful, Nothing Is Bright
We've heard of the Ghost of Christmas Past, but this is going way too far. Whatever this woman is doing to edit herself in her holiday photos has gone terribly awry, and she looks much more demonic than anything. The eyes are so soulless in every picture, and they've all got the same creepy smile. This is the type of thing we would expect to see in our nightmares, not on a Christmas card.
Maybe for Christmas, one of this woman's relatives can get her a good camera and a photoshop subscription– and maybe some lessons on how to use photoshop too.
General Grievous? Is That You?
Have you ever met someone in public, and you were convinced they were actually a celebrity? Because we definitely see a resemblance between the woman in this photo and General Grievous from Star Wars, don't you agree? We're mostly joking, but look at that waistline she gave herself! This photo has been edited so much, and that shirt she's wearing has such a weird pattern on it, it almost looks like she's got a robot spine sticking out.
What exercise do you have to do to start looking like that? Because it looks like you might need to remove all your organs first.
Even Pizza Couldn't Save Her Soul
Alright, we're going to admit it, we get really excited about pizza. It's one of those foods that makes us happy no matter where we are, or what time it is. At first glance, you'd think this woman feels the same, but after a closer look, we can't tell if she's ever been happy about anything. Those eyes look so lifeless, it's almost like she photoshopped herself out of a personality or something.
We can't understand what she's trying to do with her lips and teeth either. They're so aggressively red and white that they contrast with everything else, and just stand out too much.
Is That Andre The Skinny Giant?
It's one thing to want to be skinny and tall, but it's another to do what this woman does and photoshop yourself until you've completely lost all of your human proportions. Her legs take up more than 75% of her body in this photo, and her feet are monstrous compared to the size of her head. The whole thing looks like one of those photos from a museum where they distort your perspective to freak you out.
Whatever that thing is behind her is all warped and mangled too, so you can tell that a large portion of the photo has been photoshopped. Clearly, it wasn't photoshopped well enough though.
Why Don't You Pick On Someone Your Own Size?
If we met this guy in the street, we probably wouldn't have the guts to say anything, but on social media, we're willing to say that we think he might be exaggerating his gym gains just a bit! The proportions of his body look all wrong in the left image. His shoulders extend really far out from his neck, but in the right image, he looks more normal. His head is tiny in both, though. Maybe this is just a question of the angle the photo was taken from?
This also could've been a case where the guy had a pump going after a workout and looked much bigger than he actually is. But, we'll never know for sure.
What Did You Think Of The Wedding Photos?
You have got to see this comparison between the wedding photo that this couple shared, and the actual unedited version because it's one of the worst examples of photoshop overkill that we've ever seen. They changed almost everything about the actual image, from her skin tone to her eye color, and they even changed the expression on the man's face! He went from frowning in the original to smirking in the edited version, probably because he thinks they got away with this!
What's funny is that they're sending this wedding invitation to people who already know what they actually look like. What's the point?
Welcome To The Jungle
Alright, we're just going to come out and say it, we have no idea what's going on in this image. The person is wearing a leopard-print bodysuit, and they're standing by some trees, so we guess this is supposed to look like the wilderness? But, we can still see a parking lot in the background. And then there's the wine glass, which has us even more confused. Obviously, it's photoshopped, but what are they trying to prove?
Is balancing a glass of wine on your rear end supposed to be like a sexual thing? That looks more like something you'd go on America's Got Talent to show off.
The Shrimp Look More Alive Than She Does
This picture has us a bit puzzled, and here's why: we're not sure if the woman whose face we see in the image is the actual woman in the image. Look at the left side of her face (her right), and you'll see a hard line that you can faintly follow all the way around her head. So, either she very carefully brightened only her face when editing the image, or someone just dropped their face on someone else's picture.
Regardless of what's going on with that photoshop job, the prawns in that pan look lovely. Are these photoshop fails making anyone else hungry?
Is This What Getting Uploaded To The Metaverse Is Like?
So we've heard a lot of talk recently about the Metaverse, and other online platforms that will supposedly be replacing traditional social media over the next few years. But, we still don't understand if we're supposed to be using avatars on those platforms, or our actual images. Frankly, we'd prefer everyone to use an actual picture because it'll stop anyone from confusing the heavily edited woman on the left for the real one on the right, but that probably isn't happening anyway.
The eyes in the background image almost look robotic, don't they? The skin is too shiny too, so the whole thing reminds us of a horror movie.
Eyes On The Ball
The Seattle Seahawks are known for having some of the most loyal fans in football. Their fans even call themselves "The 12th Man" because they make so much noise at games, it's almost like opponents have to play against an extra player. Still, when this particular Seahawks fan tried to do her part to root for the team, she wound up getting called out and roasted on social media instead!
Her eyes have clearly been edited, and not in a good way either. The big bug eyes, soft facial features and blurry background make this whole thing seem more like a screenshot from an anime than an actual selfie.
Let's See Those Pearly Whites
It's one thing to be proud of your smile, but it shouldn't be the only thing people notice when looking at your photos. Unless, of course, that's all you want them to notice. Then, you can go ahead and do what this guy did by photoshopping his teeth to look like they're even whiter than scientifically possible. Especially with that clear blue sky as the backdrop, the teeth are standing out a little too much.
Other than the editing done to the teeth, this is actually a very nice photo. The guy should've thought of leaving things the way they were originally!
Give Me That Minecraft Look
If you only had one really bad picture of yourself and needed to touch it up to use for job applications or something, we can understand editing yourself. But this? This is going too far. This guy took a nice picture in nature wearing his Sunday best and then overedited it so that it looks more like a graphic design than a real picture. Who would even believe the picture on the left was of a real person?
That is some sharp line work on his beard. We'd be very impressed if an actual barber could chop it up like that, but considering it was a computer program, we won't get our hopes up.
But What Happens If We Make It Shiny?
Some people edit their photos to hide wrinkles, while others do it to edit out their glasses and stuff like that. This woman went for both of those here, but still barely looks any better. Her whole face became so shiny and she lost the life in her eyes when she started editing them. Heck, in the picture on the right, she looks like a friendly old librarian. In the one on the left... not so much.
There's nothing wrong with getting older. It happens to all of us. The question is whether you're going to accept it, or go about editing your photos like this lady.
Real Life Or A Cartoon? You Decide!
This South Korean Instagrammer decided to have a little fun with a trend that was going around where you photoshop blue eyes onto your face like you're some kind of Disney princess. Then, he went a step further and polished all his other features, turning the whole thing into some social media horror show. The whole thing makes us want to scream "The robots are coming!" because he barely even looks human anymore.
This seems like a lot of effort to go through just to share your outfit, don't you guys think? We probably won't be posting anything like this anytime soon.
We Found Peter Lorre
The young man in the image on the left may have unblemished, alabaster skin, but that's just because he gave it to himself using photoshop. In actuality, he looks like the image on the right. But, we don't actually think that's a bad thing! Sure, the edited version is a little more polished, but the unedited version could be the doppelganger for Peter Lorre, famous for his portrayal of child-murderer Hans Beckert in the 1931 German horror film, M.
Alright, maybe that was mean. We're not calling this guy a child murderer! We're just saying he looks a bit like a classic cinema villain.
In What Country Is This Considered Attractive?
It sounds shallow, but physical attraction is an important part of any healthy relationship. That's why we can't understand what was on this woman's mind as she edited this photo. How is she going to attract anyone if no one can even make out her face? She decided to use effects to soften her facial features so much, that they all practically disappeared! All that's left is a little blush on her cheeks– she doesn't even have a neck anymore!
Maybe this is just a new trend that we don't know about yet. We're not sure if we'll be participating in this one though.
Something Isn't Right Here
So, this woman apparently claims that her frenemy took a normal picture of the two of them, edited it to make her look fat, and then posted it. But, we're having trouble believing that. Too much has changed between the two images for this to be a simple photoshop job. What's more likely is that these are two separate pictures, one being much more flattering than the other, and this woman just couldn't believe she looked that bad.
Take a look at the woman in white– on the left her mouth is closed, and on the right it's open. That's something a bit more complicated than a normal edit would address. And the girl on the right– she tilts her head differently in both images.
Eye Really Like Your Haircut
After a good cut, it's always nice to take some pictures to send to friends and family and show off your new do. Still, this girl didn't have to go so far as to show off that she actually photoshopped a new haircut onto herself. Why not just wait until you actually get a haircut! We can tell the image is fake because one of her eyes is glitching through her bangs, which is some pretty amateur photoshop work.
Next time this lady wants to edit herself into some new fashions, maybe pick a picture that doesn't look exactly like Keira Knightley with an optical problem.
Stop The Cap
No way man, there's no way that this is that guy's real face. Even if we take into account that the photo could be blurry, or he could've photoshopped it to make his muscles bigger, we still don't believe that this is this guy's real face. The edges are too sharp and the contours on his facial features are too soft so they don't match the picture quality of the rest of the image, showing us that this guy on Tinder is more of a catfish than a catch.
We never understand how people expect this kind of thing to work. But, hey, to each his own.
You Ruined Her!
This is another one of those frustrating instances when a gorgeous individual feels the need to overedit one of their pictures, and the whole thing winds up looking worse at the end of the day. Just look at this photo on the left of this beautiful girl. She looks healthy, happy, and... well, human! But, then she started editing, gave herself inhuman eyes, put a sunny flair that covers the contours of her skin, and all in all made the whole picture so, so much worse.
Here's a tip that some of you may want to practice: start sending photos to friends when you plan to make edits like this. They'll help you decide if you've gone too far.
Eyebrow Sharpie To The Rescue Again
Did anyone else have a grandmother or a neighbor on their block that used to draw their eyebrows on with a pencil? As a kid, it's hard not to laugh because it seems so silly to accentuate an already existing feature like that. But, as we see with this guy and his social media posts, maybe it's not so crazy after all. Apparently, when this guy posts a picture, he really likes to blur out his other facial features, and then draw in hard, heavy eyebrows for himself to boot.
We almost want to take this picture and start testing other types of eyebrows on the guy. How would he look with a unibrow? No brows?
Don’t You Ever Get Hungry?
We understand why you might want to look skinny for social media, but there's a limit to what people will believe. Just look at these two pictures here. On the right, she looks great! Believable, beautiful- but on the left, it looks like she needs a doctor, and fast. Nobody's waist should be that skinny, and nobody should be led to believe that this is a desirable body shape. It's just plain unhealthy through and through.
Pictures like this that circulate around social media give people unrealistic expecatations, and can trigger body dysmorphia or eating disorders if you're not careful. That's why we think this Instagrammer went just a little too far.
Where Does The Real Picture End And The Photoshop Begin
This girl clearly wanted to prove a point with this goth, punk rock profile picture. But, if it was up to us, she maybe would've tried a little harder with the editing. Or, you know, she could've just not edited the photo! What's so punk rock about photoshopping fake eyes onto yourself? And don't get us started on those fake green and pink braids. Some of them are actually coming out of her sleeve instead of her hat!
If this girl wants to look edgy, smoking a black and mild and blurring her facial features just isn't going to cut it.
Move Over Ladies, We Want To Look At The Scenery
Picture this: you're on a beautiful vacation, sitting riverside in the warm summer air when all of a sudden two aliens come charging around the bend. Sounds crazy, doesn't it? Well, it's not exactly what happened here, but it's close. These two girls took a picture of the beautiful scenery on this riverbank, and then they ruined it by putting a bug-eye filter on the picture! We'd rather just look at the scenery, frankly.
Unless you've got really, really tiny eyes, there's no reason to be using a bug-eye filter like this. It's just going to make you look creepy, and like you came from outer space.
This Woman Tried TO Trick The Whole Nation Of Sweden
This Swedish celebrity thought she could get a little cheeky by slimming herself down in some press release photos. But, the ruse was quickly discovered since the photos she released look more like something out of a horror movie than a beauty catalog. There's no reason for anyone to be that skinny, and there's no reason for her to be promoting a beauty standard like that either, especially if she can't hold to it herself.
The thing that gives this picture away as a photoshop is the fact that her shoulders are so skinny compared to her head. This isn't a normal proportion like we see in the image on the left.
We Think Something Might Be Wrong With Your Phone
There are a few surefire signs that something has been edited, and this picture shows us a pretty egregious example of one of the most obvious of all. When influencers go to change the shape of their body parts, it also can warp parts of the background of the photo. So, if you see an iPhone with a giant bend in it like the one down below, then you know that the face above it isn't exactly all-natural.
Since the top of the phone is narrower than the bottom, it looks like this woman was trying to slim down her face when this effect occurred.
Mac? Is That You?
For almost eight years now, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia has been one of the funniest and most popular shows on television. We love tuning in to watch what raunchy hijinks the characters are getting into, but we'd never go so far as this guy and start editing our photos to make ourselves look like one of the characters from the show. Mac is even one of the crazier characters, and this doesn't even seem like something he'd do.
The kicker here is that the dude looks nothing like Rob McElhenny, who plays Mac on the show. The pictures aren't even convincingly photoshopped either.
Close, But No Cigar, And No Dessert Either
This woman struggles, as many of us do, with loving her body even though she's gained a few pounds over the years. It's nothing to be ashamed of! But, it's also never too late to start exercising and trying to improve your health and physique. Still, if you don't have the time, you could always do what this woman did and let photoshop do the work for you. We just don't think the effects will last that long.
The photoshop job on the left is actually pretty convincing, and if the photo adjacent to her head wasn't completely off-kilter from the molding on the wall behind her, we might not have caught it.
Filter Fun Has Woman Bugging Out
There's a time and a place for all the different filters that Snapchat offers. The puppy dog face is usually used for flirting, some of the more grotesque filters can be used for telling jokes, and this bug-eye filter... well, that one is just plain scary. We hope this woman was just trying to joke around with some friends because if this was meant to be flirtatious, or God-forbid if she was trying to convince someone this was real, we just don't think it'll have worked out.
To be fair to this woman, it doesn't even look like she would need to use a filter like this! She has some nice jewelry on, along with her Sunday best– she should just be confident enough to take a picture with no filter!
Where Did Half Her Face Go?
Want to see an epic photoshop fail? Look no further. This woman took a picture from an already unflattering angle, and then edited it so heavily that she looks practically unrecognizable! The contour of her nose pressing against her face is just gone, so it looks like she has a uninose. Her facial skin tone is four shades lighter than her body, making her head seem superimposed, and those eyes are as fake as the glass ones they give to senior dogs!
There's something about the angle here that makes the woman's whole face look flat. Is anyone else getting major Pug vibes? Or maybe it's French Bulldog?
Who Did The Photoshopping?
So this picture presents an interesting scenario. Either there's a girlfriend who face-tuned herself to look like a very generic celebrity, but decided not to give her boyfriend the same cosmetic touching up in the photo. Or– and this is what we think is more likely, this guy took an old photo of himself and another girl and then photoshopped into a different photo from online. Either way, we don't think we'll be going on any double dates with these two anytime soon.
Regardless of which scenario actually occurred, we hope we never feel the need to do this to photos of ourselves and our significant others. There just doesn't seem to be a purpose!
At Least Try To Make Things Symmetrical
When this woman decided she wanted some attention, she posted a picture on Instagram and then waited to see if guys would come flocking. She got attention alright, but instead of from interested guys, it was from people brutally roasting her for the awful editing she had done to the photo. The two different eyes she gave herself in the picture give it away pretty clearly, but the new nose doesn't help either!
Another surefire sign that this photo on the left is a fake is the fact that the woman's skin on her face is so much lighter and brighter than the skin on her chest.
Happily Never After
When you find your person, you're going to want to shout it from the rooftops. Love is one of the most amazing feelings in the world, and you can tell that these two are definitely feeling it. Actually, we take that back. You can tell that this guy is feeling pretty good, but the woman... we can't even tell if she's a real person. Is there anyone there behind those creepy, two-dimensional eyes?
It's pretty hilarious looking at the difference between the whites of his teeth, and the whites of hers as well. She could've at least done him the same favor and brightened his too!
They've Got Their Mom's Teeth
If there's anything a good photo editor should strive for, it's consistency. You don't want one photo coming out great, and the next coming out awful. Or, an even worse scenario would be if you created and only remembered to edit half of it. That's what happened here and while we're happy to laugh at the results, the people in the photo can't have been too excited about the way it came out.
If this person had just left everyone's teeth alone, this might actually be a nice picture. Also, they retouched that woman in the middle's face so much, she practically doesn't exist anymore.
Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall
We can't tell you how many times we've seen people taking photos in the mirror, only to later forget to edit half of the image. That's what happened with this woman here, who tried to show off the effects of her new anti-aging serum. One problem, the wrinkle-reducing effects she claims that the serum provides are total nonsense. You can see by her face in the mirror that the wrinkles are all still there, and the only serum she's actually usually is photoshop.
We can't blame this woman for wanting to look more young, but this probably isn't the way we would've gone about it.
Everybody Has Those Days
Hannah Montana said it best, "Nobody's Perfect," and sometimes you just have a day where that's on display more than others. This poor girl wound up on her local television station while having a particularly rough day, and if you compare it with the photos on her Instagram, they look nothing alike! We feel bad she felt the need to do all that editing to her pictures, but it's gone a little too far when the person isn't even recognizable anymore, don't you agree?
At the same time, it's everyone's prerogative what they want to do with their social media. So, if this woman likes presently a false version of herself online, more power to her!
