Eventually, a variety of evidence came to light, but nothing was entirely conclusive about what exactly happened to young Casey.
The television movie itself focused on the trial because eventually, Casey walked with only misdemeanor counts for providing false information when the prosecution had wanted the death penalty.

Sluti was only 17 years old when she was taken from Kearney, Nebraska by Tony Zappa. Tony Zappa is played by James Van Der Beek of 'Dawson's Creek' fame which is a very different role for him.
There is no way Sluti is going down without a fight though, and this film focuses on her being held for six days and her subsequent escape.
